SCHOLARSHIP
In its first year of operation, the Mark W. Graham Foundation inaugurated the coveted Character Award. This award will be given annually to a high school senior who has demonstrated strong character and fellowship.

The Character Award is designed to recognize a well-rounded young person whose contributions to his/her community may not be acknowledged by more traditional awards and provide him/her with financial assistance to achieve a dream. Given this year to a senior at Saint Thomas More High School, Mark’s alma mater, in upcoming years the award will be made available to all Lafayette-area high schools.
MILITARY SUPPORT
Although Mark's injuries were critical, he survived transportation to Germany and then to San Antonio, where his family was given the precious gift of telling him goodbye.
The dedication and compassion the U.S.Army and its medical personnel shown to Mark and his family was extraordinary. In return, one of the Foundation's objectives is to stregthen its commitment to those in military service by funding two key facilities serving wounded soldiers and their families.
The regional Military Fisher House provides vital support to familes so they can stay with their soldier during treatment.
The Intrepid Rehabilitation Center is an amputee care center that provides state-of-the-art care for the soldiers.
Neither of these facilities are government funded and both rely on public donations.
